São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Ecology of Human Sleep and Biological Rhythms |
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the event’s rescheduling resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the School announces a new window for applications, from September 01-February 28, 2021. Those who already sent the application do not need to submit it again.
The school will bring together renowned researchers from Brazil and around the world, focusing on sleep and circadian rhythms from an ecological perspective. The program was designed to teach the basic concepts and discuss the consequences of applying this knowledge in well-being, disease prevention and treatment in human populations.
Ontogeny of circadian rhythms; results of epidemiological studies on sleep; work hours, health and the timing of social life; and challenges of the tempo of our planet and evolution are some of the themes to be analyzed by the School’s program.
Students and Young Researchers (up to PhD researchers holding title obtained five years max) engaged in research in chronobiology, sleep, human ecology and related fields are encouraged to register and participate in the event to be held in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. We will provide funding for transportation and accommodation for selected students.
The event will select 100 participants (50 grantees from all states of Brazil and 50 international grantees). Registrations will be evaluated by the organizing comittee based in the candidate’s academic record, letter of recommendation and motivation letter. Selected students will be announced in late April.
