School Advanced Science - Advanced Topics in Human Molecular Genetics

O projeto de Escola de Ciência Avançada em Tópicos Avançados em Genética Molecular Humana foi realizado de 28 fevereiro - 4 março de 2011 na Universidade Estadual de Campinas, sob a organização do professor Fernando Ferreira Costa e da professora Edi Lúcia Sartorato.

Esta iniciativa representou uma oportunidade única para estimular o desenvolvimento de Genética Molecular Humana no Brasil e em outras partes do mundo. O ambiente científico colaborativo promovido pelo evento pôde abrir novas perspectivas para a pesquisa clínica em benefício de pacientes afetados por doenças genéticas e ofereceu novas ferramentas no campo da biologia molecular.

O principal objetivo do curso foi proporcionar atualização nas recentes pesquisas em doenças genéticas que envolvem um número de diferentes áreas do conhecimento, tais como a genômica, a pesquisa sobre o câncer, hemoglobinopatias, neurociências, entre outros. Também foi possível permitir o desenvolvimento e conhecimento de novas ferramentas aplicadas em biologia molecular, incentivando o desenvolvimento de projetos de investigação em colaboração entre cientistas brasileiros e estrangeiros.
